Guitar-A-Mario

I ran accross this movie clip while I was trying to add an audio clip to my personal blog profile. I was pretty amazed at a movie clip I somehow ran into and I thought I would share it with you all. I enjoyed video games a lot in my youth, in fact I have a cousin who is very inclined in the vidoe game industry and he would always have the latest games and would bring them over whenever a family even would arise. It was exciting to get together and game like we did. Anyway, I would have never thought that this particular games music would have been inspration enough to play on guitar. Well, someone went ahead and did it anyway. I am sure we have all played this game countless times to recognize this tune, so here's the clip: Guitaramario

I saw this a while ago and I would like a tally of the hours that dude spent playing the game plus the hours spent learning how to play it on the guitar.

Tim and Paula emailed me with this...it was playing in LA. The title thing happened to me as well. What you need to do is edit your blog at blogspot and there is a selection in the 'edit' section that asks to enable title box and the one below that asks enable link box. Say yes to the enable title box.

I wish I knew too. Just to get the right tone to capture the coin sound with harmonics along with all the rest is worth a good dose of time.

Thanks cuz

How bout a few steps further. The thing that I was talking about earlier is a bit different. There are a few guys on the net that do the guitar/mario thing, but check this out. www.videogameslive.com they took it a bit further.

There was a story about this type of thing in Spin a few years ago. I think that it's funny that there are bands dedicated to learning these songs. Plus, how many video game soundtracks are as universal as Mario?

I just watch a trailer on that website you are taling about Dave H. and found out that Tommy Talarico is one of the creators of this video orchestra thing and our cousin Brian was working with this same guy in L.A.
on music stuff.

i have a question - if we're all (and i mean all, except frady maybe) planning on venting our frustrations through verbal barbs on various blogs, is there really any need to have a meeting?

I am not really that frustrated. I just think that I as well as others should understand eachothers individual perspectives on what we want to accomplish with our talents when we bring them together to create songs. In short, where do we all see this going. When we clerify this through a meeting we will see where we all stand for our visions. What I think this will help us do is define a goal which gives us our direction. My comment about the band name thing was a bit impulsive and I am sorry for that, but I think we need to understand ourselves and the purpose before we get into names and stuff. I'm not into pressing barbs. Let just get together and see what we can work out. No, barbs thats just a waste of time.
